Biography
Sarah Keith has taught in areas including music production, radio production, digital media, and music technology and performance since 2007. She currently convenes the Music Production series of 3 units and the foundation unit for Media Production. Her doctoral research (2010) comprised an investigation of technologically-mediated performance, and included a creative component involving the design of an laptop improvisation and performance system using Max/MSP. Sarah's current research project explores K-pop fandom and multi-cultural understanding in Australia following a 2016 grant from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Australia-Korea Foundation.
Research Interest
Sarah's research interests include popular music studies, East Asian popular musics, the Australian music industries, music and cultural policy, music and screen media (including documentary, film, and games), music and performance technologies, and computer-mediated composition. She is currently supervising PhDs and Masters (research) in the areas of technologised music performance, music production songwriting and the voice, and measuring vocal production through sonic and postural analysis.
