Biography
Shirley Chan is the Head of Chinese Studies, Department of International Studies at Macquarie University, Sydney. She is currently serving as President of Chinese Studies Association of Australia. Her academic qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies), Master of International Studies and PhD in the Confucian Analects and Confucianism, all of which were awarded by the University of Sydney where she studied Classical Chinese and Chinese history under Professor Pierre Ryckmans (Simon Leys).
