Biography
I received a BSc in Electrical Engineering and MSc in Microelectronics from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Before starting my PhD I worked as engineer for Pantec Engineering AG and Pantec Biosolutions AG, Liechtenstein, where I was involved in the development of a novel laser based drug delivery technology, mid-infrared lasers and electronics for the automation and laser industry. In April 2013, I graduated as PhD in Physics from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. Currently I am a MQRF research fellow within the MQ Photonics Research Centre and Centre for Ultrahigh Bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS) at Macquarie University. My research interest include lasers and optics, in particular the interaction of ultrashort laser pulses with dielectrics and the application of ultrafast lasers to optical materials processing for femtosecond laser direct-writing (ultrafast laser inscription) of 3D photonic waveguide devices for the use in telecommunication, astrophotonics, sensing, and information processing applications.
