Research Interest
Im a geodynamical modeler interested in solving different geodynamical problems using numerical method. Most of my researches are carried out in 3D global models or high resolution regional models which requires parallel computation on HPC. The problems I have dealt with in recent years include mantle lithosphere coupling under Tibet, solid tide strain anisotropy, and calculating far-field seismic deformation with numerical methods. Im also quite interested in the development of numerical methods on HPC. Recently, I have developed a novel method to make include discontinuities inside elements (in finite element models), which is used in seismic deformation computation with adaptive mesh refinement. Collaborative work with Dr. Gabriele Morra (SNU) resulted in the development of a remeshing scheme for the boundary element method, working in parallel, to deal with dynamical viscous flow problem with large surface deformation. Right now am working on constructing high resolution mantle flow model using adaptive mesh refinement.
