Steve Lack
Department of Mathematics
Macquarie University
Australia
Biography
Steve Lack studied at the University of Sydney and Cambridge University (including a year at the Ecole Normale Suprieure in Paris), and then had positions at the Universities of Sydney and Western Sydney, before joining Macquarie in 2010. He works in category theory, especially enriched and higher category theory, and received the Medal of the Australian Mathematical Society for this work. He has no interests outside of mathematics, which may explain why he has been described on the web as a very boring man. He is neither a Canadian artist, nor an actor best known for his role as the lead character, Cameron Vale, in David Cronenberg's film Scanners
