Biography
Terri has a BA (Hons) in Political Science (SUNY Albany USA 1983) and a PhD in Performance Studies (New York University 2004). Her research focuses on people’s performances in their media-enhanced everyday lives, noting whether their behaviours mirror or modify existing discourses on gender, ability, ethnicity, class, nation, and the forces of globalization. She particularly enjoys utilizing critical theory, ethnography and memoir to unpack the politics of new media practices deemed (either by participants or critics) as apolitical or ‘just for fun.’
