Biography
Dr. Jackson is a Science Programme Leader at AgResearch Ltd., Christchurch, NZ. His research encompasses developing naturally occurring microorganisms for the control of insect pests. He has discovered a number of new species and strains of insect-pathogenic microbes and nematodes and has strived to integrate biological agents into pest management practices, especially for soil-dwelling insect pests. Dr. Jackson and his team have been involved in developing commercial microbial pest control products including Invade™ and Bioshield™. His current research centers on the stabilization of microbes into products for use as biopesticides and bioinoculants, and incorporating their use into integrated past management (IPM) systems for pests and plant diseases.
