Biography
Emeritus Professor Roberta Farrell at the University of Waikato is an internationally renowned researcher in the areas of wood degradation, bioremediation, biocontrol, fungi, and enzymology. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science, and a former member of the New Zealand Foundation for Research Science and Technology. Professor Farrell has conducted research on fungi in Antarctica since 1996. In 2009, she was named a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her contribution to biochemistry.
