Biography
Dr Alex Menzies is a Medical Oncologist and Senior Research Fellow at Melanoma Institute Australia, The University of Sydney and Royal North Shore and Mater Hospitals. He specialises in melanoma and breast cancer. He graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 2003 and completed specialist training in medical oncology in 2011. After completing a fellowship in melanoma clinical trials, he received his PhD from The University of Sydney in 2015 for research exploring the biology of BRAF-mutant melanoma and biomarkers of response and resistance to targeted therapy. He is an investigator on Phase I to III clinical trials of systemic therapies in melanoma and breast cancer, has published several original research and review articles, and is a regular invited speaker at national and international meetings. His main research interests are the biology of melanoma and biomarkers of response and resistance to systemic therapy.
