Biography
McKenzie’s experience as a reformist CEO was a chief factor in her appointment to head Bioenergy Australia and she looks forward to delivering positive results as she begins showcasing bioenergy as the answer to building a national energy mix that is good for the environment, the economy and the community.Shahana will have responsibility for leading Bioenergy Australia’s contribution on matters such as climate science, jobs creation, regional development and energy supply will ensure national benefits for the next decade and beyond. An immediate priority for Bioenergy Australia is to ensure bioenergy features prominently in considerations of all levels of government as they plan and implement energy strategies and policies.Prior to joining Bioenergy Australia she was the Chief Executive of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) and led the organisation to become a vocal, active and engaged member of the built environment community. Prior to this, she has a history of working across associations and organisations in the non-profit and sporting sectors.
