Biography
Jakob is passionate about addressing societal challenges with innovative and entrepreneurial tools. He works for Impact Hub Vienna as Director of the Social Impact Award, a year-round educational program on social entrepreneurship dedicated to students and the largest student social entrepreneurship competition in Europe. Before that Jakob worked for four years for Katharina Turnauer Privatstiftung, a foundation based in Vienna funding and consulting a broad range of social initiatives across Europe. Moreover, he is board member and former general manager of SOMARO, a social business in Romania that runs so-called social supermarket across the country in order to alleviate the very difficult living conditions of Romanians living at the edge of society. Jakob holds a Master in Public Policy and a Bachelor in Business, Economics and Social Sciences. He is currently the Viennese outgoing curator of the Global Shapers, a global network initiated by the World Economic Forum.
