Biography
Vascular Surgery is based Dandenong Hospital where the endovascular suite is shared with diagnostic imaging to allow a comprehensive modern vascular surgical service to evolve within Monash Health. There is now enhanced synergy with our colleagues in diabetes and podiatry who were already based at Dandenong Hospital. The Monash Health vascular unit has a long established reputation with endovascular work and was the first unit in Melbourne to perform endoluminal grafting of aortic aneurysm. This has progressed to complex aortic interventions using branched endografts for iliac disease and fenestrated grafts for visceral artery disease. The Monash Health vascular surgery unit is well known for its renal replacement surgical activities which includes all forms of access surgery, renal transplantation utilizing both live donor and deceased donation, as well as combined kidney pancreas transplantation for diabetics with end stage renal failure. We are one of only two units in Australia performing this procedure. The renal surgery and transplantation is performed at MMC Clayton.
