Biography
Dr Fallon Cook graduated from Swinburne University of Technology in 2011, with a PhD in Psychophysiology. Her Honours work examined the impact of childhood psychological trauma on neural connectivity and dissociative tendencies. Her PhD examined the impact of childhood exposure to high-level family conflict and tested the efficacy of a cognitive behavioural therapy intervention for the treatment of child trauma symptoms. She has an interest in the impact of early life stress on the child and parent, and possible bi-directional relationships between these. Dr Cook has expertise in the fields of infant sleep and crying behaviours, postnatal mental health of parents, and mother-infant interactions. She has coordinated several large randomised controlled trials, been involved in the development of intervention programs, published in international peer reviewed journals, co-authored a book chapter and has presented at international conferences.
