Biography
Dr Penelope Bryant is a paediatric infectious disease physician and general paediatrician who has trained and worked in the UK and Australia. She completed her PhD in infectious diseases at the University of Melbourne and is the clinical research coordinator of the Department of General Medicine as well as group co-leader of the Murdoch Childrens Clinical Paediatrics group since its inception. In addition to a clinical appointment in the Infectious Diseases Unit at the Royal Children's Hospital, Dr Bryant is the medical lead of Hospital-in-the-Home (HITH). She has overseen the clinical expansion of the service and directs its research. She is the paediatric lead of the Australasian HITH Society. She is chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Committee at RCH and also of ANZPID-ASAP, the Australasian paediatric AMS group, and a member of GARPEC, the global AMS in children group.
