Tony Barnett

Biography

Tony Barnett is Head of Policy and Research at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Education Institute. His research is focused on strengthening the evidence-base about the need for, and effectiveness of, education support services for children and young people with a chronic health condition. Tony holds a Master of Science in Evidence-Based Social Intervention, Oxford, and a Master of Social Policy from the University of Melbourne. He is an Honorary Fellow at both the University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. Prior to his current appointment at The Royal Children's Hospital, Tony was Senior Manager, Early Years at the Brotherhood of St Laurence Research & Policy Centre where he managed the national evaluation of the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) on behalf of the Australian Government.
