Biography
I am a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Murdoch University (Australia), where I teach different finance courses. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and my Doctor of Philosophy in Finance from Curtin University (Australia). I held different positions in the finance industry for 13 years before commencing my academic profession. I worked as a business analyst and ORACLE programmer for many respected organisations, including St George Bank (Australia) and Air New Zealand (New Zealand). I also served as a civil engineer for several multinational construction companies in Bangladesh. I have had 14 years of experience teaching international finance and other finance topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Curtin University, the University of Dubai (Dubai), the University of Southern Queensland (Australia), the University of South Australia (Australia), and Murdoch University. In addition, I have authored one of the top five international finance textbooks in Asia-Pacific region entitled International Financial Management (https://cengage.com.au/product/title/international-financial-management/isbn/9780170386135) An active academic researcher, I have published thirty three research articles in numerous international high ranked journals, including Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Multinational Finance Journal, Global Finance Journal, International Journal of Managerial Finance and Energy Policy. I have also presented my research works in twenty six international conferences. I have also received awards for excellence in research. I am presently the Associate Dean International and have also served as the Associate Dean for Postgraduate Degrees in the School of Business and Governance, Murdoch University.
Research Interest
My blended experiences (Finance, Information Technology and Engineering) stimulate me to multidisciplinary research. My interest areas of study (alphabetically) include, but are not limited to, Australian carbon tax, carbon emissions, currency options, derivatives, financial engineering, forecasting volatility, foreign exchange market and market micro structure. I have published a number of research articles in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA), and Australians Business Deans Council (ABDC) ranked international professional journals.
