Biography
I am an Emeritus Professor in the School of Business and Governance at Murdoch University. I have taught across both undergraduate and postgraduate units in accounting, work integrated learning, leadership and corporate governance. My research interests coalesce around internal and corporate governance, leadership and organizational decision-making from a critical theory perspective and from a collaborative decision-making approach in organisational and social settings, primarily within the higher education, public and not for profit sectors. The body of research outputs emanating from these research interests (more than one hundred and thirty in total) includes six monographs and book chapters, journal articles, conference publications, conference papers, professional articles, seminars and assorted reports and submissions. Publications have been in a number of national and international journals including Australian Journal of Public Administration, Australian Accounting Review, Critical Perspectives in Accounting, M/C: A Journal of Media and Culture, Corporate Ownership and Control, Australian Universities Review and Tourist Studies. Originally from Singapore; I also have a special interest in cross-cultural education.
Research Interest
My research interests are in the broad areas of governance, leadership, strategic management and change management in the higher education sector, private sector and not-for-profit sector. My research has a critical theory focus and utilises insights from multidisciplinary perspectives in the development and promotion of collaborative decision-making approaches in organisational and social settings.
