Biography

I am currently a Senior Lecturer of Accounting in the School of Management & Governance. Prior to joining Murdoch University, I worked as a Lecturer in Accounting in UWA and Sun Yat-Sen University (top 10 in China). I earned my PhD in Accounting from the Hong Kong Baptist University. During my time at Sun Yat-Sen University I had supervised 2 doctoral students to completion, and had acted as a thesis examiner on many occasions. I teach in both the undergraduate and postgraduate accounting units, specifically in the areas of financial accounting and accounting theory. I have broad teaching interests. During my time at Murdoch, UWA and Sun Yat-Sen University, I had taught Corporate Accounting, Accounting Theory and Governance, Contemporary Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, Investment, Advanced Microeconomics, and Managerial Accounting. I have been involved in research on financial accounting information, corporate disclosure, corporate finance, corporate governance, and capital markets. My research leads to more than ten papers published in refereed international journals and many presentations at conferences in the U.S., Asia and Australia. In addition, I have gotten research grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China, Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong, and so on. In addition, I also have abundant experiences in industry. I had been working as an accountant, an accounting manager and a lead auditor. I have also worked as a consultant within the manufacturing companies on cost accounting system and compensation package.
