Biography
I have been a teacher and educator for over two decades in a range of educational institutions. Throughout my working history at Murdoch University, I have been involved in the delivery of many undergraduate courses principally in Economics. More recently, I am the workshop coordinator for a 1st year undergraduate Economics unit that is offered externally and internally but also via Open University Australia. In my capacity as Senior Teacher and Economics Coordinator for Online and Internal Courses at the Schools of Isolated and Distance Education (2006 – 2011), I developed new courses and resources for online delivery using Moodle, an Open Source Course Management System. Over this period, I modeled online teaching sessions to senior school administrators. Resources that I developed to scaffold new courses were made available to educational professionals throughout the state. I am committed to teaching and learning in the Economics and Business discipline. Throughout my career, I have networked with business stakeholders such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry by organising forums and conferences to promote greater interchange between business organisations, educational institutions and students in addition to, conducting professional teacher training seminars for the Education Department.
