Biography
Navid Moheimani is a senior algae technical specialist who has over 16 years experience as an applied phycologist and being involved in biofuel production from microalgae. He is also Director of Murdoch University Algae R&D Centre.
Research Interest
Main research areas are: Microalgae and Macroalgae cultures for wastewater (i.e. domestic, piggeries) treatment. Microalgae cultivation in open ponds and closed photobioreactors. Limits to the growth of microalgae. Algal physiology. Algal photosynthesis. Algal calcification. Solar energy conversion to biomass and electricity. Botryococcus braunii non-destructive hydrocarbon extraction. Techno-economic assessment. Modelling algal growth.
