Biography
Pete Irons is a South African-born and trained veterinarian and specialist in veterinary reproduction. He spent most of his career at the University of Pretoria, with brief stints in practice in the UK and South Africa and in academia in the USA. His current role is mainly in administration of the veterinary program, involving oversight of curriculum delivery and development, student and international affairs.
Research Interest
1. Veterinary education: Curriculum design and development, the role of student research projects in veterinary education 2. Animal reproduction: Bovine and ovine breeding potential, uterine immunity, pregnancy diagnosis, assisted reproduction technologies and infectious diseases associated with reproductive function. Wildlife reproductive evaluation, clinical management and assisted reproduction technologies.
