Biography
My research and teaching interests are in International Relations, Security Studies and International Development. Geographically, my expertise is in the developing world with a particular focus on Asia. I have written about identity politics and ethnic conflict, defence and strategic issues, and Asian politics and international affairs. I am the founding editor of the Journal of Asian Security and International Affairs (http://aia.sagepub.com) and a former founding editor and current member of the editorial board of the Journal of South Asian Development (http://sad.sagepub.com). In a long academic career, I have worked at universities in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
