Biography
Steve Jones rejoined MWH this year as New Zealand’s Operations Manager for the Water and Waste sector. Steve is responsible for ensuring a consistently high standard of work is provided for sector clients by having the right person for the right job delivering high quality work on time and to budget. Based in MWH’s Auckland office, Steve has over 25 years experience in the water industry. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the water cycle including master planning, feasibility studies, modeling, non revenue water economics, detailed design, operations and utility maintenance. Originally from Canterbury, England, Steve first joined MWH’s Wellington office in 2005 when he immigrated with his New Zealand wife, Viviene. In 2007 he left to set up a new operation in South Africa for Mouchel before moving to Abu Dhabi as their Operations Director for the Middle East, East Africa and India region. Steve’s Middle East role included a short time acting as Programme Director for the Dubai Waterfront City – a development that was to be twice the size of Hong Kong. Steve said this role posed the rewarding challenges of working in different business cultures and on large IFA and government backed projects. He rejoined MWH earlier this year.
