Mart Pearson

Biography

Mart Pearson has more than 26 years of experience in international sales and marketing of medical devices, working primarily on the introduction of innovative, first-to-market technologies in surgery (surgical oncology, minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy, orthopedics, spine surgery, general surgery) and infection prevention.. He has been responsible for definition of strategies, identification of initial target markets, creation and management of teams and organizations, management of Key Opinion Leader and Clinical Evidence development as well as all aspects of the supporting logistics and infrastructure required for early stage medical device sales, both direct and through distributor organizations. During his tenure as Vice President, International, at Salient Surgical Technologies Inc. (now a part of Medtronic’s Advanced Energy ) he led the introduction of the company’s saline-enhanced radiofrequency product platform to the European markets starting in 2001 and was responsible for all markets outside of the U.S. from 2005 through 2008. Prior to that, he was responsible for opening one of the first international subsidiaries of STERIS Corporation, where, with direct sales, customer service, clinical education and technical support teams he successfully established the SYSTEM 1 low temperature liquid sterilization system as market leader in Italy. Mr. Pearson received his BA from Pomona College, where he majored in Philosophy while also pursuing languages (Russian, Swedish) and Economics. He continues to pursue his interests in new market development, entrepreneurial business, languages, food, wine, cross cultural communications and management. He is located in Northern Italy.
