Biography
Billie Bonevski, BA(Hons), PhD is a Professor of health behaviour science and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Career Development Fellow and Faculty of Health and Medicine Gladys M Brawn Career Development Fellow at the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Newcastle. Her research focusses on developing and evaluating methods to help people change their health behaviours and improve their well-being as well as developing strategies to help organisations and services better meet their clients’ health needs. In particular, she is currently leading a number of smoking cessation trials which target vulnerable population groups such as those with mental illness and physical co-morbidities, the unemployed and homeless, people with drug and alcohol addiction and Indigenous Australians.
