Biography
"Professor Rivett is the immediate-past Head of School of Health Sciences and Foundation Professor of Physiotherapy at The University of Newcastle, Australia. He is Vice-President of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Deputy President of the Physiotherapy Council of New South Wales, and former National Chairman of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia. He has been awarded Honoured Membership of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia, and also Honorary Membership of the Mulligan Concept Teachers Association for his contributions to research. Professor Rivett is the co-editor of the text ‘Clinical Reasoning for Manual Therapists’ and co-author of the texts, ‘Mobilisation with Movement: The Art and the Science’ and ‘The Mulligan Concept of Manual Therapy: Textbook of Techniques’. His research interests include the benefits and risks of manual therapy in the cervical spine and clinical reasoning in musculoskeletal practice. He has published 130 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and supervised 29 higher degree research candidates. Professor Rivett has delivered numerous invited presentations at conferences nationally and internationally, including the prestigious Geoffrey Maitland Oration. "
