Biography
Geoff’s research interests involve sperm cell biology with specific focus on how reactive oxygen species negatively impact the male germ cell, including the processes which lead to protein and DNA damage. Recently, Geoff's focus is on protein structure, using molecular, mass spectrometry and molecular modelling techniques to understand the function of critical proteins which may have importance as drugable targets. His expertise includes analytical chemistry, bio-marker development, DNA damage detection and DNA chemistry, proteomics and protein structure. Understanding the origins of protein and DNA damage in human spermatozoa and the consequences for human fertility, are his key research questions.
