Biography
Ph.D in Communication Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. I specialize in Telecommunications Network Engineering. Since completing my Ph.D I worked for a European Commission's research project known as RACE (Research for Advanced Communications in Europe). My contributions in the research group was to develop MAC protocol known as PRMA for mobile communication networks. After extensive research by our groups (three groups involved) the protocol was developed and deployed in 3G mobile communication systems. Since 1992 I am working as an academics in two different universities. Currently I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. In my current position at the University of Newcastle I have developed a telecommunications network research group as well as undergraduate telecommunications program. Currently the telecommunications network group has a membership of 9 researchers. I am a senior member of the Communications Society of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and a member of the ACM (Association of Computer Machinery). I extensively publish in international journals, conferences and in books.
