Biography
Karen is currently working as a Certified Diabetes Educator at Trinity Community Clinic in Williston since 1980. She received her RN diploma from Trinity School of Nursing in Minot, N.D. and attended University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1959 and is complication free. She has used a Medtronic insulin pump for 20 years and was certified to train Medtronic insulin pumps since 2001. She was able to receive and be part of the 50-Year Medalist Program through the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, MA and participated in research 3 different times to enhance care for type 1 diabetes. She continues to provide education for all ages of people with diabetes.
