Biography
Dr Ramya Venkateswaran is a medical oncologist specialising in the management of colorectal, pancreatic, gastrointestinal, lung and renal cancers.Ramya adopts a holistic approach to patient care and has published research in the contribution of complimentary therapies to patient management. Her philosophy is to combine the best evidence based medicine with personalised, holistic care for each and every one of her patients. Ramya is an alumnus of University of Sydney and completed her oncology training at Royal Prince Alfred and Westmead Hospitals, followed by a Clinical Fellowship at Prince of Wales Hospital, gaining in-depth knowledge into the management of gastrointestinal and pancreatic tumours. She has been involved in teaching undergraduate students at UNSW and coordinating the oncology curriculum at UWS Blacktown Campus and is currently also undertaking a Masters in Clinical Trials Methodology & Research. She believes life is a journey to be experienced, and cancer is an obstacle to be managed to continue that journey!
Research Interest
She has a special interest in clinical trials and has actively been involved in early phase clinical trials that provide patients access to treatments that may otherwise be restricted.
