Hugh Burrill

Biography

Hugh has been a Non-Executive Director of Nova Aerospace Pty Ltd since April 2007 and was appointed Deputy Chair in July 2015. Hugh is also a Non-Executive Director of IDT Australia Ltd (ASX: IDT) a public Australian pharmaceutical manufacturing and specialty pharmaceutical business based in Boronia, Victoria, Australia. IDT develops and manufactures pharmaceutical products, including high potency products, for its own global product sales as well as for local and international clients. IDT also provides clinical research services through its CMAX business based in Adelaide, South Australia. The IDT facilities are cGMP compliant and regularly audited by global health authorities including the US FDA and Australian TGA. In his Executive roles, Hugh has over 30 years experience in research and development within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. From 1992 to 2000 Hugh was based in the United Kingdom as the Technical Director with Ipsen Limited a pharmaceutical company specialising in the research, development and manufacture of niche biopharmaceuticals, and from 2000 to 2009, Hugh was the Corporate Vice President of Global Pharma R&D at Hospira Inc (now Pfizer, formerly Mayne Pharma; formerly Faulding Pharmaceuticals) and based in Chicago, London, and Melbourne respectively. Hugh has been a member of the Industry Development Taskforce of the Australian Pharmaceutical Industry Council, a foundation member of Biotech industry association AusBiotech, a member of the Williamson Leadership Group of Victoria and a member of the Melbourne Forum. Hugh earned his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Science (Biotechnology) from the University of Queensland and an MBA from the University of Melbourne. He is also a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors
