Biography
Malcolm had a career of over twenty years in investment banking prior to retiring from Merrill Lynch late in 1998. He was Managing Director of the Investment Banking Division, working principally on Australasian and Asia Pacific business. He resided in Asia from 1991 to 1995 as head of investment banking for the Asia Pacific Region. Malcolm also participated in the establishment of an emerging markets fund for Merrill Lynch, and remains a director of one of the portfolio investment companies in China. In 2000 he established Malcolm Binks Associates LLC in the USA. This company provides investment-banking services in the Asia-Pacific Region. Clients have included the Korean Securities Dealers Association and the CSIRO. He is also Chairman of Melbourne Venture Partners Pty Ltd. Mr Binks is qualified as a Barrister-at-Law, is Chairman of the American Australian Association and a director of The United States-New Zealand Council and India-America Chamber of Commerce (New York). He is also an advisor to the Korea Economic Institute in Washington DC. Malcolm has been advising NuPlant on its business and financing strategy and corporate governance.
