Biography
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Donal grew up playing Gaelic Football and soccer, getting to know his local physiotherapist’s treatment room quite well along the way. Having developed an interest in the profession, he went on to graduate from University College Dublin with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. As part of his thesis, he spent time in Uganda researching healthcare in developing countries. After graduation, Donal worked in the Irish First Division with the University’s soccer team, until deciding to move to New Zealand. Over a two and a half year period, Donal trained extensively in post-graduate Pilates, Dry Needling, Functional Screening and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies. He gained invaluable clinical experience working with patients in gyms, high-schools and rugby union teams, and was also was lucky enough to work at the Auckland Open twice, as part of the ATP World Tennis Tour. Since moving to Melbourne, Donal has been working with Pinnacle Health Group during the week and with Australian football clubs over the weekend. He has particular interest in managing persistent spinal pain and sports injuries, and uses Pilates to create stronger, more resilient athletes.. He encourages people to be as pro-active as possible in how they approach their health and rehabilitation.
