Biography
Associate Professor Lilon G Bandler Associate Dean (Indigenous), Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney MB BS, MHPol, GradCertEdStud(Higher Education), FRACGP, AAICD A/Professor Bandler has worked in general practice for many years and currently provides GP locum services for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, to rural and remote western New South Wales. She has been involved in medical education across the healthcare sector since 1985. She currently works for the Sydney Medical School where she has responsibility for curriculum development and implementation in Indigenous health education, ensuring learning and teaching by all (approximately 1200) medical students. She has been a member of a University of Sydney Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) for 5 years; and is one of the co-ordinators for the Intensive Research Ethics Course (held twice a year by the Monash Centre for the Study of Ethics in Medicine and Society). She is Chair of the National Education and Training Committee for the National Blood Authority, as well as sitting on their Patient Blood Management Steering Committee. She is Chair of the Clinical Reference Group for the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care Patient Blood Management Collaborative, and co-chair for the Anaesthesia Peri-Operative Network of the Agency for Clinical Innovation NSW. She is a board director for the not-for-profit organisation WasteAid.
