Biography
Aleks works in private practice and has previously worked in public mental health, community and acute health settings. Aleks has held clinical, research and senior positions, and has focused on the area of Eating Disorders. His completion of his doctorate thesis examining the assessment and management of suicide risk, has led him to present seminars on understanding and managing risk issues. Aleks has had advanced training and experience in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. With broad experience delivering therapy to men, women, youth, couples and families, Aleks’ areas of interest include trauma, anxiety issues, depression, grief and loss, eating issues, stress, anger issues, substance use, self-harming behaviour and other emotional issues. Aleks brings a warm and compassionate approach to the therapeutic relationship. He is committed towards meeting individualised goals.
