Biography
My academic career with Central Queensland University began in 2010 when I developed the first four year combined bachelor and graduate diploma course in medical sonography in Australia. This course hopes to address the sonographer shortage by enabling school leavers to directly access education in Sonography. I became discipline lead for medical sonography in 2011. In 2015 I became Head of Program for Medical Imaging, Sonography, Echocardiography and Chiropractic Science and finally in 2017 the Head of Department for Medical and Imaging Sciences. Recently I worked with Associate Professor Sharon Kay to develop the first four year combined bachelor and graduate diploma course in Echocardiography & Cardiac Physiology and developed a 'top-up' master of medical ultrasound (course work). These courses both launched in 2016. In 2017 we launched a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound for health professionals interested in utilising and / or interpreting ultrasound within their medical role.
