Biography

www.sunshinepsychology.com.au is my home website I am extremely happy to be in private practice in Sunshine Beach, right next to the beautiful Noosa National Park. The work I do encompasses/has encompassed 14 years of private practice plus teaching at the Masters students at the University of Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast, and working in a variety of hospital and other organisational settings. I run retreats for health professionals because I have a special interest in health professionals taking care of themselves. I feel this is fundamental to good practice. So, I also run workshops and do individual mentoring in the area. I have been a practicing psychologist for 20 years. Other Specialties: I love group work, presenting and training and have enjoyed doing this with for professional, corporate and client groups on all kinds of subjects. I have a special interest in the relationship between physical health and psychology, and have a history of working with people with cancer, HIV, chronic pain, heart problems, and rheumatoid arthritis. I write a blog that aims to educate about common psychological experiences, and I am starting to create larger writing projects. I incorporate Mindfulness, CBT, ACT, and Buddhist-based techniques into my work.
