Biography
"Dr Freeman graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy from James Cook University and has gone on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and a PhD from the University of Queensland. His PhD dissertation was titled Pharmacists as Members of the Multidisciplinary General Practice Team: A new model of Australian pharmacy practice. The dissertation explored how pharmacists may be better utilised within the primary care setting. It was his work in this area that led to him being awarded the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s Young Pharmacist of the Year Award in 2011. In 2007, Dr Freeman obtained accreditation to conduct medication management reviews from the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy (AACP) and has worked in this field ever since. Dr Freeman became the first Australian pharmacist to obtain specialisation in ambulatory care pharmacy in 2012 under the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (USA).
