Nick Houldsworth

Biography

 Nick Houldsworth has over 15 years of experience providing environmental and sustainability support to major oil and gas, mining and infrastructure projects at every stage of their lifecycles. He has built award winning environmental and sustainability teams, provided strategic planning and direction to clients, and held a number of global leadership roles. Nick has served as environmental project leader for developing strategy and processes to minimise cost and reduce the risk of non-conformance, and constructing a number of major- and mega-sized projects. He has developed a library of lessons learned and processes to more effectively manage compliance obligations in major project delivery. Nick has extensive experience in integrating environmental obligations into project execution, developing and cascading corporate policy, incorporating environmental expectations into procurement processes, and developing environmental management frameworks and systems to drive policy into project delivery and operations. He is also experienced in the field of industrial symbiosis and delivered for the National Industrial Symbiosis Program (NISP) in the UK. Nick is a sustainability consultant and has developed and implemented processes to integrate sustainability expectations into project delivery. A sustainability framework he developed became mandatory part of project delivery for a global engineering/project delivery business. Nick has also provided strategic advice to a number of global organisations about their WEEE liabilities. He co-owned a business that developed innovative electronics recycling technology. Nick earned a BSc (Hons) in environmental science from the University of the West of England.
