Biography
"Heike Rahmann, a landscape architect and urban researcher, is lecturer in Landscape Architecture at the RMIT School of Architecture and Design.Dr Rahmann's research explores the intersection of landscape and contemporary urbanism with focus on design practice and theory. Her most recent project explores the relationship between digital technologies, landscape architecture design practice and fabrication. She is the co-author of a forthcoming book published by Routledge, which examines the potential of new media to expand landscape architecture design into a more dynamic field of creativity and enquiry. She is also co-author with Marieluise Jonas of Tokyo Void: Possibilities in Absence (Jovis, forthcoming). Dr Rahmann has a background in landscape construction and worked as a contractor before pursuing her academic career. Her international work experiences cover various practices within the fields of landscape architecture, environmental and urban design. She has established a strong partnership with industry, community and government bodies, especially in Japan, Germany and Australia and is a member of IFLA Japan."
