Biography
One of Australia’s foremost academic nurses with an extensive clinical nursing background and a research portfolio focused on primary health care, rural and remote health workforce and health service strengthening, and nursing education.Since 2006, Professor Mills has been the recipient of over $1.7 million in research and consultancy income. An internationally recognised grounded theorist, in the past decade wrote the popular text, 'Grounded Theory: a practical guide', which has furthered the development of fundamental grounded theory methods of theoretical coding and storyline analysis. The text has been reprinted several times since its publication in 2011 with a second edition released in February 2015. She has gained international, national, institutional, peer and community recognition for her command of the field, teaching research and evidence-based practice to student nurses and midwives. This is evidenced through receipt of an Australian Award for University Teaching: Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning
