Biography
Professor John Hearne is Head of School, Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences.Professor Hearne's main interest is in the use of quantitative techniques to solve management problems. This has involved a wide range of mathematical techniques including differential equations, optimization, column generation, sensitivity analysis, model simplification and order reduction. In the application area Professor Hearne is particularly interested in problems relating to the conservation and sustainable utilisation of natural resources.
