Biography
Dr. Julian Goddard was Head of the School of Design and Art at Curtin University, Perth until recently. He has been an academic, curator and artist for 30 years specializing in the aesthetics of the everyday.As well as a teacher and lecturer Julian is the founder and chairperson of the Australian Centre for Concrete Art – an international group that since 2001 has been making large, public minimalist wall paintings and gallery installations in Australia and Europe. He is also chairperson of The Bureau of Ideas - an international think tank that promotes public discussion of art, design, architecture and philosophy through forums in non-academic environments. Julian has curated numerous exhibitions and published widely on Australian, Aboriginal and Concrete art, including three books, book chapters, articles, papers and catalogue essays.
