Biography

More than 18 years environmental consulting, business development and country and office management experience spanning Australia, China and the Middle East in Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation (soil & groundwater), Industrial Site Audit, Hydrocarbon Remediation, Client Management, Ecological Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Business Development. Former Co-Chairperson of American Chamber of Commerce - Beijing Environmental Industry Forum, and winner of the 2011/12 Westpac/ACBA Outstanding Business Award for the Best Australian-based Company Marketing Itself in China. Recently started iEnvironmental Australia - a new way of doing environmental consulting in Australia offering more competitive fees, and experts and technologies selected from the global best (not limited to one company). Michael recently returned from China where he was country manager, registering two companies and managing two offices (Beijing and Changsha, Hunan) and business development across China working closely with Australian, US and Chinese governments and partnering companies in connecting overseas technologies and expertise with heavily contaminated land, sediment and groundwater problems in China. In China his team were the first foreign company to directly win a full scale Chinese Government remediation project. Michael was also the China representative for the Environmental Bankers Association focussing on Bank/Financier and Government sustainable practices and partnerships.
