Earlier in his career, Mr. Bakst worked as a Consultant at Bain and Company, providing strategic and operational advice to a major health care company on manufacturing and service issues. Mr. Bakst earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

Mr. Evan Bakst is the founder and Portfolio Manager of Treetop Capital, a fundamental, value-oriented, friendly activist fund focused primarily on small to mid cap companies. Before launching Treetop, Mr. Bakst was a Partner at Tremblant Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund based in New York. During his seven year tenure at Tremblant, Mr. Bakst led the health care group and was a member at various times of the Executive Committee, Operating Committee, Investment Committee, Risk Committee, AUM Committee and Fund of Funds Committee. Prior to joining Tremblant, Mr. Bakst was a Principal at JPMorgan Partners, LLC. Mr. Bakst shared the day-to-day responsibility for managing the health care buyout practice. He worked extensively with management teams of portfolio companies and held six Board seats. During his five year tenure, Mr. Bakst completed four transactions across venture, growth and buyouts.
