Stefano Giorgini

Biography

Stefano Giorgini was appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director in October 2017. Stefano is a finance executive with over 30 years experience having worked in senior finance, risk and assurance, governance, business development and commercial roles in the international resource and metals manufacturing industries. This includes extensive experience in managing risk in complex businesses and audit committee involvement During his long term career with BHP Billiton Limited (BHP), Stefano’s responsibilities included Vice President Finance/ CFO for the Aluminium, Manganese and Nickel Business, Head of Group Risk Assessment and Assurance and Chief Development Officer of the Carbon Steel Materials business. Stefano is currently an audit committee member for the Victoria State Government Department of Treasury and Finance and was a member of the Department of Transport audit committee. Stefano was formerly Chairman of BHP Marine & General Insurances Pty Ltd and a Director of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has held executive director roles for numerous international resource ventures based in Australia, Africa and South America including Mozal Aluminium a Mozambique based aluminium smelter.
