Biography
When Dr John Auld founded Gold Coast Dermatology Clinic in 1980, it was the first specialist dermatology practice on the Gold Coast. Prior to this, he worked as a General Practitioner in the Currumbin area. Dr Auld, now works solely at Gold Coast Dermatology Clinic, but has previous worked as the Director of the Dermatology Department of the Princess Alexandra Hospital and held a visiting consultant position there for 34 years. He was on the board of examiners of the Australasian College of Dermatologists for 6 years and was subsequently the Chief Examiner for a further 3 years. He also held the position of President of the Australasian College of Dermatologists for some years. Dr Auld has always been actively involved in the teaching of junior doctors and registrars and continues to dedicate much time and energy to the ongoing education of up and coming doctors.
Research Interest
John’s main interests in dermatology are acute skin eruptions, psoriasis and hair and nail disorders.
