Biography
Dr Pecoraro is past president of the AMA Queensland and also the Obstetrics & Gynaecology spokesperson for the federal AMA. He is the past Secretary of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He also chaired the Continuing Professional Development Committee during his tenure. Dr Peccararo is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of QLD and has also been an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Bond University. He works as a senior visiting obstetrician at Mater Mothers’ Hospital where he is actively involved in the training of junior specialists, doctors and medical students. Dr Pecoraro delivers (Obstetrics) at Mater Mothers’ and Wesley maternity hospitals, has gynaecology operating at Mater Private Hospital and is also accredited at St Andrew’s, Brisbane Private and Greenslopes Private hospitals. He is an award winning medical journalist and presented a regular health segment on Brisbane’s Channel 10 news. He contributes to a number of women’s magazines including Cosmopolitan Pregnancy where he is in the panel of experts as well as New Idea and Woman’s day. He was a co-host of the nationally televised “Your Health” series on the community 31 network and was for a number of years the regular “Morning Medico” on Radio 612 ABC in Brisbane and still provides pieces for them.
