Biography
Professor Tiganis is Head of the Cancer Metabolism Program at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and holds a joint appointment at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, Melbourne, where he heads the Metabolic Disease, Diabetes and Obesity Program. Professor Tiganis has a background in the fields of cancer cell biology, metabolism and immunology. His laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre focuses on how obesity and metabolism affect tumour cells and the immune system to promote the development of cancer.
