Biography
Aged 66, is an Independent Non-executive Director of the Company, having been appointed on 28 September 2010. Mr. Chow is the Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange). He was appointed a non-official member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 1 July 2012 and was further appointed for a new term of office from 1 July 2017. Mr. Chow was also appointed as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Corruption of the Independent Commission Against Corruption from 1 January 2013, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals of the HKSAR from 1 July 2016 and a director of the Community Chest of Hong Kong from 19 June 2017. He has also been a Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club since March 2011. Mr. Chow was knighted in the United Kingdom for his contribution to industry in 2000 and was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government in 2015. Mr. Chow was Chief Executive Officer of MTR Corporation Limited (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) from 2003 to 2011, Chief Executive Officer of Brambles Industries plc, a global support services company, from 2001 to 2003, and Chief Executive of GKN plc, a leading industrial company based in the United Kingdom, from 1997 to 2001. He was an independent non-executive director of Anglo American plc from 2008 to 2014, independent non-executive director of Standard Chartered plc (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) from 1997 to 2008 and the Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce from 2012 to June 2014.
